I was born in Greenwich in South London in 1973. I've always loved to write, but it wasn't until I turned thirty and found myself moving to Nottingham with my young family that I began to take my writing more seriously. After completing my first novel, a dark coming of age story, ‘How We Were Lost’, I embarked on a Creative Writing MA, studying online with Manchester Metropolitan University.

'How We Were Lost' was awarded second place in the 2006 Yeovil Prize (the Betty Bollingbroke-Kent award). The novel then went on to be published by Flame Books (www.flamebooks.com) the following year, and in late 2008, it was one of the first titles to be selected for promotion with the new Arts Council funded 'Exclusively Independent' scheme.

In 2009, I finished my MA.  Alongside completing my second novel, 'The Dawning', I was awarded a Distinction and MMU's Janet Beer Award 'for outstanding contribution to the life of the Writing School'. 

'The Dawning', a literary thriller about a family at breaking point, was released from Weathervane Press 23rd January 2010.

My third book, 'The Lives of Ghosts' hopes to hit the shelves in 2012. You can find out more about all three novels on this site, but if you have a specific query about representation or publication, please don't hesitate to contact me.
