Lowdham 2015

Hurrah!  It’s that time of year again – the sun is shining(ish) and Lowdham Book Festival is underway!  Now in its sixteenth year, co-ordinated by the incredible and tireless Jane Streeter and Ross Bradshaw, the Festival runs from the 19th to the 28th June.  The line-up for 2015 offers everything from Toyah to sheep, Alice in Wonderland to Alan Johnson, with a huge amount of other fabulousness in between.  The entire excellent, eclectic programme is available now!

On the final Saturday – which is always fantastic and always FREE – I’m very fortunate to be taking part in a couple of events.

At 12.30 – 1.30 in the Committee Room of Lowdham Village Hall, I’ll be running a fun and practical creative writing workshop, ‘Food and Fiction’, using eating as inspiration for our words.  Everybody’s welcome – bring along a pen, paper and (if you fancy) a picnic!

Then at 2.00, in the Methodist Chapel on Main Street, I’ll be celebrating the public launch of Nottingham’s Big City Read and Write.  The accompanying anthology, ‘These Seven’ includes work by  Alison Moore, cartoonist Brick, Paula Rawsthorne, John Harvey, Shreya Sen Handley and the late, great Alan Sillitoe – needless to say, I’m incredibly excited to also be involved!  I’ll be posting more details about the whole project very soon…
